This is the Batman movie I have been waiting for since I was a youngling. Heath Ledger definitely went out with a bang. I am really sorry we won't be seeing anymore of his Joker. |

Damn good. Better than Begins, which you'll recall I had (mostly minor) issues with, or sure.
So, was Dent dead? I was rather tired and wasn't entirely clear by the end. One of the better things I didn't even pick up and someone had to point out to me today (I don't feel bad, others apparently didn't get it either) the redhead guy who figured out that Batman is Bruce Wayne was only ever referred to as Mr. Reese, as in Mysteries, as in the Riddler. Also, why the hell do people feel the need to eat in theaters? It's two freaking hours, leave the nachos (and hot dogs, swear to god, hot dogs!) until you get home.  A lot of people are better off dead. |

Yeah they killed Dent, which I hate. I guess they could fudge it to where they stuff him away in Arkham secretly but...eh. I also thought the cell phone
sonar was a bit silly, but at least it gave them a pretense to finally give Batman white eyes in a movie. Gordon faking his death and not even warning Barbara
was a little strange to me (I can understand not warning his co-workers under the circumstances). Detective Ramirez seemed very similar to Montoya but I'm
glad it wasn't her, since she turned out to be crooked. Another guy (can't recall his name) looked like Harvey Bullock to me but I couldn't find
his name in the credits. They keep running through the comic book mob guys, I guess next is up is Rupert Thorne or even Penguin. I've seen speculation
abound that Reese may be the Riddler, in which case I guess they are dropping his old name of Edward Nygma.
Each time I've gone to see it, the theater is packed with idiots. The second time I went, after they showed the trailer for the upcoming Will Ferrel movie Step Brother, all this hooping and hollering started which was capped off by some guy going "OH DEEEAAAAMMN DAT'S TIGHT YO IMMA SEE DAT!!" and I had to blurt out "What the fuck is wrong with you people?" which earned a few laughs and applause. |

I really wanted that to be Montoya, until she turned out to be crooked. I am fully in love with that character, especially now that she's gay, the
Question, and leader of the Religion of Crime.

Yet another great character that got her start on the Animated Series. Paul Dini and Bruce Timm did good work.

I've been watching a lot of Animated Series recently. A lot more of it holds up than you would think, but the stuff that doesn't is pretty bad.

some people are saying harvey dent is dead, but two face isn't. i dunno what to think of it. i think the way they left him didn't really seal the deal
for me. like he just fell down & might not be dead. maybe they just sent him to arkham or something i dunno.

I remember reading at some point in the vast volumes of speculation, rumors and interviews leading up this movie that they had planned on giving Joker a cameo
in the next one and that he would reveal some pivotal plot point. Maybe they can pawn that off on Dent now that its unlikely we will see the Joker again.

On an unrelated note, I see that FOX is doing what FOX loves to do (taking a dump on fans) and is taking a piss over the Watchmen movie.
RorMack's Journal, December 27 Going to visit FOX. Let them know how much their efforts are appreciated. Also may drop into Warner Bros and motivate them to handle their copyright issues in more copacetic manner. Was alerted by friend that my winter attire seemed inspired by comic character. Resemblance gleefully noted.

I was concerned/confused about how certain elements could be transferred to the screen, but the trailers look great. I hope Zack Snyder approaches this like he
did with 300 and does a page-by-page adaptation instead of doing the usual Hollywood deal and change up core elements.

Considering they changed the ending from the alien/squid to bogus Dr Manhattan explosions, I'd say that's a no. Also; no Black Freighter or electric
